Why Autumn Is My Favourite Season

Why autumn is my favourite season is a question I’m often asked, and the answer is surprisingly simple. Autumn has always felt a little magical to me. It is the season of changing colours, golden light, crisp mornings, and small moments that invite us to slow down and notice the beauty around us. Every year, when the leaves begin to turn shades of yellow, orange, red, and brown, I find myself inspired by the details that make autumn so special.

As a child, I loved celebrating Halloween and watching the neighbourhood transform with pumpkins, decorations, and excitement. Later, I discovered a different side of autumn when I moved to Europe. For the first time, I experienced entire streets covered in colourful leaves, creating natural carpets beneath the trees. Even today, I cannot resist walking through them and listening to the familiar crunch beneath my feet.

Why Autumn Is My Favourite Season: A Season of Small Details

Perhaps that is one of the reasons I love micro crochet and miniatures so much.

Autumn is full of tiny details that are easy to overlook: the shape of a leaf, the texture of an acorn, the colours of a forest path, or the warm glow of the moon on a cool evening. These small details often become the inspiration behind my creations at Lalio Atelier.

Whether I am designing a pair of autumn leaf earrings or imagining a miniature scene with tiny pumpkins and cosy textiles, autumn constantly reminds me that beauty can be found in the smallest things.

Many of my creations are inspired by the colours and atmosphere of this season. Warm shades of gold, rust, brown, and deep red frequently appear in my jewellery and miniature projects.

Autumn is also a season of creativity and new beginnings. It invites me to slow down, crochet, imagine, and create tiny worlds stitch by stitch.

For me, autumn is more than a season. It is a feeling of warmth, creativity, nostalgia, and home.

And that is why it will always be my favourite season.
